About Mama Nem's
Growing up, we all had that special someone-a Mom, Grandma (mine affectionately known as Big Mama), an Aunt, Nana, or even a family friend that we were very close to. They all had a way of showing us that they loved us and cared for us. For many, that was through food. Prepared with love, care and soul, the meals were like events-a celebration of family, friends and loved ones.
For me, Thelma Bell, Barbara Lilly, Flossie Brooks and Shahiddah Bilal (Mama Nem) were the women-rather "The Mama's" that inspired me to take our family's recipes that had been passed down from generation to generation and share them with our extended family. And by family, we are speaking of you. Because Mama Nem's patrons are more than just customers-Mama Nem's makes you a part of our family.
Originally from the Deep South, the Delta and Bayou areas of our nation, Mama Nem's Creole dishes are crafted with the love and care shown throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas Gulf, North and South Carolina and Florida. "The Soul of The South" best describes Mama Nem's.
