I grew up in the small town of Shelby, NC., but I’ve lived and traveled all over the world and country. Because of my travels, my love for various cuisines grew. I fondly remember, at the age of six, my first cooking memory. I prepared breakfast for my mom, who is also a chef. She was shocked at how well the meal was prepared and presented. That was my validation that I had raw talent.
I’m a husband to my beautiful wife of 23 years and I have 5 kids and 3 grandkids. I’m a formally trained chef, who attended Wake Tech Culinary School in Raleigh, NC. I graduated in 2012. I spend most of my time in the kitchen, cooking with my family and running Mama Nem’s with my three youngest kids. I love that we get to spend time together as a family as we serve your family.
When I’m not in the kitchen, I love to travel, attend concerts and shows...and spending time with my family.
I love cooking because I love the gratification of someone being completely satisfied with something that I’ve made. When it comes to cooking, nothing ever feels like a challenge. "If you respect the food and give it its proper treatment, then it will always respond positively for you".
I knew that I wanted to be a chef at the early age of six. I've been cooking, training and creating ever since then. Food is an essential and vital element to our everyday existence...it's comfort, love and if done right...delicious.
